The Sligo Bay Catchment Rivers Trust works across the rivers, lakes, wetlands and coastal waters that drain into Sligo Bay. Our catchment covers a diverse landscape stretching from the upland headwaters of the Ox Mountains and Benbulben area, through productive farmland, towns and villages, to the internationally important coastal habitats of Sligo Bay. Key waterbodies within the catchment include the Owenmore, Ballisodare, Easkey and Bonet river systems, as well as Lough Gill, Lough Arrow and numerous smaller streams, lakes and wetlands. Through partnership, conservation and community action, we work to protect and restore these interconnected water environments for the benefit of wildlife, water quality and local communities.
