Water Hertage Day 2024

Sligo Bay Heritage DAy

What a great turnout Group at Ballisdoarewe had for our second Water Heritage Day!

The event was hosted by The Ballisodare Fishery, whose Chairman, Gerry Merrick, gave us a guided tour of the fishery during the breaks in the rainy weather!

Our guests were also treated to a wonderful talk by Wendy Lyons, on the history of the Fishery and the Old Ballisodare Mill and it’s environs.

The third part of the event was a demonstration of how water can be tested for it’s quality. This was carried out by very capable Lisa Cronin and Ruth Quinn from the Sligo ATU.

Many thanks to everyone for giving of their time so freely, it was very much appreciated and made the day such a success!
